Paper 1 assessment leaner response

WWW: you have attempted every Q and some knowledge of advertising conventions.

EBI: you need to read the questions carefully/also use your extra time and support

Q2)  I could've written about the theoretical framework by discussing use of language, typography, and photographic codes.

Q3) In Q3, I could've written about CGI Audrey Hepburn. I could've then gone in to detail about Todorov and the concept of Equilibrium. There are three types of Equilibrium - equilibrium: which relates to normality; disequilibrium: which is relates to problem and new equilibrium which is relates to problem resolved. Another narrative feature I could've analysed is "Propps" in which i could explain the following:

  • Princess = Audrey Hepburn
  • Hero = Chauffeur
  • Doner = Bus driver
  • Villain = Fruit Cart
The uses of Intertextuality The narrative references Roman Holiday so rewards Audience who have knowledge of the glamour of old Hollywood The narrative is a parody of the original film where Audrey Hepburn character steals Greggory Peck's Vespa motorcycle and he jump on the back whilst Italians shout at them, a bus goes past a lady drops fruit.

4) Now look at Question 4 - Tattler and social/cultural contexts. Use the mark scheme to identify three points you could have made in your answer here.

In Q4, I could have written about the serif font as it connotates formality and high class status which represent how well established the magazine is; in term of it being Britain's oldest magazine.

On the tattler magazine it shows us that Blond Ambition shows link to Boris Johnson in his interview with his brother. Tattler attempts to reflect focus on the power and influence in Britain which also seen cover time in the British establishment

In The Tattler magazine, it shows Emma Weymouth and Marchioness are the cover stars this attempts to reflect the changing attitudes towards the race the influence Britain campaign such as changing attitudes in black live Matter movement.

5) On Section B, focus on Question 7 - film industry and Black Widow. Use the mark scheme to identify three ways Black Widow was marketed to its audience.

In Q5, I could have written about The challenge Marketing Black Widow was due to Covid pandemic attempts therefore it did not make as much money in the box office as compared to other marvel films despite the marketing and promotion.

One way Black Widow was marketing was through social media platforms such as -Twitter, Facebook, YouTube & TikTok Profile. These were heavily used by Marvel to Promote the film including using tweets from the audience members on massive billboards.

One way Black Widow was marketing was through most big budget and mainstream films blockbusters which is called Star Power. This reflects that the use of star power attracts audiences to their film for example the star in Black Widow is Scarlett Johansson who was very known and established many
fans.

6) Finally, write down three things you are going to work on before your next mock exam in December (e.g. time
 management; revising CSPs etc.}

- time management, memorising flashcards, revision, organisation skills, focus in lesson, going over previous content.

Before my mock in December, I am going to work on organisation skills and use the flashcards so that I can revise and going over my previous cornet and in my lesson
