(This is when the shot changes - the first cut in the scene is after 9 seconds).  Around 10 times 2) How does the pace (speed) of cuts change between 1 minute and 1.30?      The pace of the cuts gets slower.  3) Why is the scene emotional for the audience to watch?  The scene is emotional as the painter (Van Gogh) is overwhelmed watching people admire his work. They are unaware that he is there and compliment him in his presence. The medium close up shot of Van Gogh crying further reinforces the emotional scene.
